Memphis Firefighters: Using the AMI on tactical athletes

Image
The AMI and Tactical Athletes In April 2021, Memphis firefighters performed their first Rebound Vitality Safe Movement Assessment, powered by our dorsaVi wearable sensor technology, on 50 firefighters over two days.  As tactical athletes, firefighters are required to maintain a high level of fitness: aerobic endurance as well as muscular strength, endurance, and flexibility. Our dorsaVi technology is the perfect way to assess their movement quality.  The firefighters were fitted with dorsaVi's wearable sensor technology (this can be seen being attached in the image to the right). They were then required to complete a series of tests, designed to challenge and assess their legs and core and safely measure their strength, flexibility, balance, and coordination (pictures of this can be seen down below).  At the end of this assessment, the clinicians used the actionable data drawn from the AMI and tailored individual programs for the athletes, prescribing corrective exercises to improv

Force Plates v. AMI: How do they compare?

Force Plates v. The AMI When discussing the Athletic Movement Index (AMI) with potential clients, our sales team is often asked the question: “Should I get a Force Plate, or should I get the AMI?”. Our customers regularly make the mistake that these two products can offer them the same thing.  In actuality, these two products hold two very different purposes . When we consider the Force Plate, its purpose is to capture force data. This they do very well, as such they have been used successfully in research for a long time. However, the main challenge clinicians will face with a Force Plate is: what to do with the data? Clinicians know that when their client’s Force Plate data is off, that something is wrong with their mechanics. But they do not know what. Or rather, the Force Plate does not tell them what or where the system is breaking down. This is where the AMI and Force Plate differ significantly.  The AMI consists of wearable sensor technology that has been designed to give clinic

Watch Team Nigeria Use the dorsaVi AMI to Assess their Athletes

Team Nigeria and the AMI Watch the short clip down below  to see how Team Nigeria used dorsaVi technology to prepare the next class of prospective athletes for the 2022 Winter Olympic Games. The team utilise our ViPerform Athletic Movement Index Module (AMI) and lean on the expertise of Dr. Seun, chiropractor, biomechanist, and 2x- Nigerian Olympian, for measures on injury prevention.  From the AMI Module, Dr. Seun was able to highlight and build upon areas where these Olympic caliber athletes could optimize their performance and become stronger, faster, and healthier athletes . She was also able to use the actionable data to prescribe exercise  and  treatment plans and improve injury prevention and injury recovery. For m ore insight into how the AMI can be implemented by clinicians and into practice, click  here and read about why 10-41 Strength and Physical Therapy purchased our technology.  For more information on Dr. Seun and her amazing work, you can:  Visit her website:  www.ext

AMI Movement Solutions: How to act on AMI data and design a strong exercise program.

AMI Movement Solutions dorsaVi is excited to announce that we have partnered with WebExercises, the well-respected exercise  platform, to deliver our brand new product:   Movement Solutions   – a movement driven exercise program for the AMI module.  To help enhance the patient outcome of our customers, dorsaVi has created AMI Movement Solutions. Movement Solutions is the answer to that “now what?” moment as it  provides customers with an extensive database of exercises with correctives for every potential movement fault on the AMI . From this template, clinicians can add or alter, plan, and design the most effective treatment regime for their athletes. Movement Solutions  is a very simple to use service. All the correctives are listed in order of AMI tests, with each corrective having three different levels: beginner, intermediate, advanced.  Once the Athletic Movement Index (AMI) has identified movement faults in your athletes, the clinician needs to act on the data, and prescribe

Why Did 10-41 Strength and Physical Therapy Purchase dorsaVi's AMI?

We sat down for an online discussion with physical therapist Courtney Green and Conditioning Coach Jeff Hannah  from  10-41 Strength and Physical Therapy ,  the first facility in Alabama to partner strength coaches with a full-time physical therapist, to discuss all the ways dorsaVi's Athletic Movement Index (AMI) benefited their facility.   Throughout the webinar, Green and Hannah talk about how they integrated the AMI into their practice and how  this purchase positively impacted their business, client care and revenue.  One  of the first questions we asked them was: Why did you gravitate towards the dorsaVi AMI? And why you decided  to  make  the purchase? Watch the video clip below to see their answer!  Here they explained how our wearable sensor technology had the potential to expand their facility and profession and why it suited them over other systems that they had previously tried. The AMI measures and assesses athlete's movement in real-time, turning robust data into
